Herzliya splits its shopping between the old centre on Sokolov Street, the Seven Stars mall by the highway and the marina complex in Herzliya Pituach.
Where the shops are
- Most of the city's shops are on Sokolov St, with the commercial centre around Sokolov and Ben Gurion Streets (community source: he.wikipedia (opens in a new tab)).
- Seven Stars Mall, 8 Shivat HaKochavim Blvd (09-9519898) (7star.co.il (opens in a new tab)). See the listing.
- The marina complex includes the Arena mall and restaurants overlooking the water (community source: Wikipedia (opens in a new tab)).
How kashrut works here
The Religious Council's kashrut department supervises about 170 businesses, some at regular kashrut and some at Herzliya Rabbinate mehadrin (mdh.org.il (opens in a new tab)). Its searchable list had 167 entries when I checked, updated June 2026, with level, meat/dairy/parve and hours (mdh.org.il (opens in a new tab)).
Two things the council itself stresses:
- Only an original, valid physical certificate on the premises is legal proof of kashrut.
- Local Rabbinate kashrut works on a yotze v'nichnas basis: the mashgiach visits rather than being there all the time (mdh.org.il (opens in a new tab)).
I did not find a Badatz list for Herzliya. The kosher listings on this site use the council's wording, either 'Rabbanut Herzliya' or 'Rabbanut Herzliya - Mehadrin'.
Mehadrin by the sea and in the business area
Per the council list (mdh.org.il (opens in a new tab)):
- Marina and HaShunit St: Papagaio and Lechem Basar (2 HaShunit), Benny HaDayag and Cafe Cafe (1 Yordei Yam).
- Beachfront: Al HaMayim, 3 Ramat Yam.
- Pituach business area: Pastito (5 Abba Even), Nobo Sushi (42 Wingate), and French Bakery and Hummus Eliyahu (32 Maskit).
- Sokolov St has a cluster of mehadrin bakeries (Shibolet HaAretz, Bereshit, Ne'eman, Bonjour) and pizzerias (American Pizza, Pizza Shemesh, Casa del Pepe, Porto Bella).
For chalav Yisrael keepers: the council lists Roladin at 35 Maskit as dairy with non-Jewish milk powder (mdh.org.il (opens in a new tab)).
Hotels on the council's kashrut list include the Ritz-Carlton (4 HaShunit), Dan Accadia (122 Ramat Yam) and Okeanos (50 Ramat Yam).
Supermarkets, and Motzei Shabbat
Certified supermarkets include several Carrefour branches (Lev HaIr, Neve Amirim, Pituach, Hadar, Rabbi Akiva, Neve Amal, Nof Yam), Victory (8 Shivat HaKochavim), Shufersal Sheli, Freshmarket, Tip Tov and Hills Market, all at regular, not mehadrin, level (mdh.org.il (opens in a new tab)).
Some certified places open on Motzei Shabbat, for example Lechem Basar, Victory, Pastito and several pizzerias, per their council entries. Browse food shops and restaurants.
Days out
