Herzliya is three strips running north to south. West of the coastal highway are Nof Yam and Herzliya Pituach, mostly villas. Between the coastal highway and the Ayalon/railway is Herzliya B. East of the Ayalon comes a public strip (the stadium, Seven Stars mall, the Sportek, Reichman University, Herzliya Park) and then the main residential city around Ben Gurion and Sokolov Streets (Hebrew Wikipedia, a community source: he.wikipedia (נפתח בכרטיסייה חדשה)).
Nefesh B'Nefesh says most olim choose to live on the western side of the city (NBN (נפתח בכרטיסייה חדשה)).

The west: Herzliya Pituach and Nof Yam
- Herzliya Pituach sits between the sea and the coastal highway, south of Nof Yam. It is mostly villas, with the hotel strip, the marina and the high-tech zone in its south-east, and it is described as one of Israel's most prestigious residential areas (he.wikipedia (נפתח בכרטיסייה חדשה)). English Wikipedia counts about 10,000 residents and many embassy residences (en.wikipedia (נפתח בכרטיסייה חדשה)).
- Nof Yam, founded in 1946, is by Apollonia National Park and the Sidna Ali beach: older blocks and houses, some replaced by large villas, four shuls and a community centre with a library. See Apollonia.
Between the highways: Herzliya B
Formerly called Ezor Gimmel, Herzliya B runs along Nordau St between the coastal highway and the railway, with mostly older 2-4 storey buildings and villas (he.wikipedia (נפתח בכרטיסייה חדשה)). The Nordau pool and a library with English fiction are at 50 Nordau St. See the library.
The centre and the north
- City centre: the old moshava core around Sokolov and Ben Gurion, with City Hall, the main library and the Great Synagogue; smaller, older flats and the most buses.
- Herzliya HaYeroka: between HaBrigada HaYehudit and Yigal Alon, with rents that rise from east to west.
- Nahalat Ada and Gan Rashal in the north: Gan Rashal's 1970s blocks have often been upgraded under Tama 38; both have several small shuls.
The east: Yad HaTisha and Neve Amal
- Yad HaTisha (Shaviv), on the Ra'anana boundary, is mostly late-1950s blocks with big urban-renewal plans. The municipality publishes renewal information in Hebrew and Russian (Herzliya Municipality (נפתח בכרטיסייה חדשה)). It had the lowest average asking rent in the sample.
- Neve Amal borders the fields of Givat Hen, is partly traditional-religious and has many shuls, the religious Rambam school and a women's mikveh.
The south and the new towers
- Herzliya HaTze'ira (Young Herzliya): cottages and villas on the Ramat HaSharon boundary.
- Neve Israel and Neve Amirim: older houses and small flats next to a high-rise neighbourhood with a members' sports centre and pool.
- Galil Yam: a new high-rise neighbourhood with the Shimon Peres education campus and a wide park.
- Weizmann: its buildings were demolished in 2026 for a pinui-binui project and towers are going up; Yad HaTisha also has a large plan (he.wikipedia (נפתח בכרטיסייה חדשה)).
