Herzliya is one of the easier Sharon cities to manage without a car: a major train station, frequent Metropoline buses, a free municipal minibus on weekdays and free buses at weekends. The bus stops near you, with the lines that serve them, are on the Getting around page.
Trains
Herzliya station sits in the median of the Ayalon highway extension (community source: Wikipedia (נפתח בכרטיסייה חדשה)). On a sample weekday (Wed 7 Oct 2026) the timetable had 258 trains calling there, the busiest destinations being Be'er Sheva Center (47), Jerusalem - Yitzhak Navon (37), Binyamina (36), Ashkelon (28), Rehovot (25), Netanya (19), Nahariya (18), Rishon LeZion - Moshe Dayan (12) (Open Bus GTFS (נפתח בכרטיסייה חדשה)). Buses
- Metropoline runs about 96% of bus stop calls in the city (Open Bus GTFS (נפתח בכרטיסייה חדשה)). The busiest intercity lines on the sample weekday included 29 (marina - Kfar Saba, every ~12 min), 605 (Herzliya junction - Netanya / Tel Aviv), 347 (Reichman University area - Tel Aviv central bus station / Ra'anana), 501 and 47/48 (Ben Gurion St - Tel Aviv / Ra'anana) and 90 (marina - Tel Aviv). Lines from Herzliya junction go north to Haifa, Afula, Tiberias and Kiryat Shmona.
- Inside the city, line 33 was the main all-day line; many lines heading to Ra'anana, Kfar Saba or Tel Aviv (3, 19, 27, 29, 31, 34, 90) also cross town.
- Rav-Kav: load it before boarding at self-service machines (the driver does not top up); the municipality publishes a map of the machines (Herzliya Municipality (נפתח בכרטיסייה חדשה)). The Rav-Kav service centre is at 2 Ben Gurion Blvd (Lev HaIr), Sun-Thu 07:00-20:00, Fri 08:00-13:00 (gov.il (נפתח בכרטיסייה חדשה)). You can also load it by phone with Rav-Kav Online (נפתח בכרטיסייה חדשה).
- Planning: use bus.gov.il (נפתח בכרטיסייה חדשה) (official planner and live arrivals) or Moovit (נפתח בכרטיסייה חדשה). The public transport information line is *8787.
Free municipal services
- Skipper minibuses are free, Sun-Thu 07:00-19:00, linking neighbourhoods to clinics, schools, community centres and shops. Scan the barcode at the door when boarding; seats only, no large luggage or scooters. Neighbourhood lines are reduced in July-August (Herzliya Municipality (נפתח בכרטיסייה חדשה); routes on Herzliya Mobility (נפתח בכרטיסייה חדשה)).
- Naim BaSofash weekend lines are free on Friday evenings, Saturdays and holidays (Herzliya Municipality (נפתח בכרטיסייה חדשה)):

Shabbat
Regular buses and trains stop from Friday afternoon until Saturday night. In Herzliya the free Naim BaSofash lines above are the exception.
Driving, parking, bikes
- Residents get free blue-and-white parking with the Ani MeHerzliya digital permit, except in two-hour sections of Ben Gurion, Sokolov and the business district (Herzliya Municipality (נפתח בכרטיסייה חדשה)). Parking department: 29 HaSharon St, 09-9509223 (Herzliya Municipality (נפתח בכרטיסייה חדשה)).
- Herzliya Mobility is the municipal portal for live traffic and transport by neighbourhood (herzliyamobility.com (נפתח בכרטיסייה חדשה)).
- The municipality publishes a bike-path map (bike map (נפתח בכרטיסייה חדשה)). I found no bike-share scheme or taxi company with a public page to recommend.
Coming later
Metro lines M1 (three stations) and M3 (two stations) are planned through Herzliya; the municipal page gives no opening date (Herzliya Municipality (נפתח בכרטיסייה חדשה)).
